ITALY-RUBY ADVERT - The woman at the heart of the scandal surrounding Italian premier Silvio Berlusconi, bares herself for a book.

Karima El Mahroug, who also goes by her stage name "Ruby Rubacuori" (Ruby Heartstealer), is central to the prosecution of Berlusconi, who is accused of paying to have sex with her when she was under 18.

On Monday, she raised a few more eyebrows by appearing in a book promotion wearing just her underwear.

Author Alfonso Luigi Marra produced the advertisement for his latest books- which are love stories that also address the perceived evils of the international banking system.

When asked about his choice of Mahroug, Marra explains.

"Because she is an extremely effective promotion media. I see that now the whole world is talking about the subject of my book."

In the advert, Mahroug accuses what she calls the regime of finding a scapegoat to take the focus off the need for real change and Marra agrees.

"I want to make it clear that I really do not care about the fate of Berlusconi and I am not interested at all in his character. Having said this, I think that they are trying to use him as a scapegoat to distract the public opinion from the need for real change."

The advert is available on Marra's website in several different languages including Mandarin, Arabic and English.
