Nokia launches Nokia X smartphones at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona

BARCELONA, SPAIN (FEBRUARY 24, 2014) (NOKIA) -  Today at the Mobile World Congress, Nokia introduced the Nokia X family, affordable smartphones that offer access to a world of Android apps. The new devices feature the best of Nokia design and quality, signature Nokia experiences such as HERE Maps and Mix Radio, and popular Microsoft services such as Skype, OneDrive and Outlook.com.

The Nokia X family gives people a smoother way to switch between their favourite apps using the unique Fastlane feature. People can get curated and quality-tested apps through Nokia Store, and even more apps through third-party app stores and by sideloading.

The first three members of the Nokia X family include:

Nokia X: the entry point to the family, priced at EUR 89 and available immediately.

Nokia X+: tailored for more music, photos and video, priced at EUR 99 and available in early Q2 2014.

Nokia XL: our biggest Nokia X device, with its 5'' screen and front facing camera for Skype video calls, priced at EUR 109 and available in early Q2 2014.

The Nokia X family is complementary to Lumia, which remains Nokia's primary smartphone strategy.Nokia X is aimed at the affordable smartphone segment - currently, the fastest growing in the overallsmartphone market. The family was designed for first-time smartphone buyers and feature phone upgraders in growth markets.
