LED ice cube tracks alcohol intake, tells you when to stop drinking

Next Media - A student from MIT has invented alcohol-aware ice cubes, which flash in sync with ambient music and sounds, and are able to detect how much alcohol someone has consumed. Each cube comprises an LED, accelerometer, IR transceiver and a battery that has the capability to track how often the glass is raised to someone’s lips. A timer monitors the sips and helps to estimate how drunk the person is.

The LED inside each cube will change color from green, to orange and finally red to indicate how much alcohol a person has consumed. It can also send a text message to friends telling them when someone is intoxicated.
