Twitter releases map highlighting peak tweets during the Superbowl.
WEBSITE (FEBRUARY 7, 20104) (@TWITTERDATA) - Twitter reported more than 24.9 million tweets were posted during the game and half-time show on Sunday (February 2) setting a new record.
The previous high was 24.1 million during last year's superbowl game.A map released by @twitterdata on Friday (February 7) showed orange flashes when tweets referred to the Denver Broncos, green for the Seattle Seahawks and purple for the half time show featuring Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The largest twitter usage came at the beginning of the second half when Seattlewide receiver Percy Harvin ran 87 yards (79 meters) for a touchdown, which generated more tahn 381,605 tweets per minute.
