The head of Nokia, Stephen Elop, sees the collaboration with Microsoft Windows as a positive challenge which his development team is working hard to make sure Nokia meets.
SPAIN-NOKIA CEO - Reuters correspondent Matt Cowan speaks to Nokia CEO Stephen Elop at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and the man at the top of Finland's leading handset provider is upbeat about the company's collaboration with Microsoft Windows.
The CEO said he is positively surprised at the reaction to the Nokia/Microsoft strategy. Elop added that his reference to the 'burning platform' was designed to demonstrate the challenges his company faces at the moment. He is also reluctant to confirm the date for the release of the first Nokia/Windows phone and backed away from stating it will definitely be before the end of 2011.
But on Monday Microsoft said it expects to see a lower priced Windows phone on the market this year and that it will be available in more languages, and more countries.
