A New Zealand court rules that Megaupload founder Kim Dotcom can use the internet, after previously denying him web privileges. Travis Brecher reports.
NEW ZEALAND-KIM DOTCOM INTERNET - A New Zealand court has allowed the founder of file-sharing website Megaupload, Kim Dotcom, to use the internet, after previously denying him access.
Dotcom, who was arrested on January 20 for distributing movies and music without content authorization, said he's pleased at the news.
MEGAUPLOAD FOUNDER KIM DOTCOM SAYING:
"Well I'm very happy to have access to the Internet, it will make it much easier for me and my co-defendants to work on the case."
A judge also ruled Dotcom can go swimming once a day, and travel to a recording studio twice a week to work on an album, which could be a source of much-needed income.
MEGAUPLOAD FOUNDER KIM DOTCOM SAYING:
"I have large legal bills, as everyone can imagine, so any kind of revenue stream is going to be welcome."
Dotcom vehemently denies the charges against him.
