The research also highlights that 71 percent of affiliates already use social networks as part of their affiliate marketing activities. This trend presents an additional challenge for marketers who have to deal with the resultant rise of micro-affiliates. For micro-affiliates in particular, speed of payment is crucial to increasing brand loyalty, driving traffic and ultimately increasing sales. It's unsurprising then that for 43 percent of affiliates surveyed, increasing the speed of commission payments is seen as a top priority.
With an increasing population of micro-affiliates who are leveraging social media, there is a need for merchants to set up payment processes that can handle smaller payment thresholds and increase affiliate loyalty, ultimately helping drive sales back to the merchant's site.
